🎬 Building the new Digital Stage (literally)

Hi Reader,

This week’s edition is a little different.

Normally, I share tips, tools, or tutorials from inside the studio, but this time I want to give you a real behind-the-scenes update on something big that’s happening in my world.

We’re moving house.

Still in Thailand but about 120 miles south, to a new area and a fresh chapter for our family. The move is happening this weekend (and into next) and we're all really excited about it.

Along with that move comes something unexpected though: a dedicated office building... Let's call it Digital Stage Global HQ!

Not just a single studio room like I’ve used until now but multiple rooms, each with the potential to become its own creative space.

One of them is particularly large. Large enough, in fact, to bring to life a vision I’ve had for years: a true virtual stage. A space that will allow for more depth, flexibility, and creativity in the way I show up on camera.

We haven’t moved in just yet, and I haven’t built anything.

But something has already shifted.

Just knowing that space is coming has lit a spark in me.

New ideas. New formats. New possibilities.

Not because I was stuck before, or because I needed a bigger space to be productive.

But because sometimes, the possibility of a fresh environment opens the door to new ways of thinking.

Enough about me, the takeaway for you...

If you’ve been feeling creatively flat lately… it might not be your gear.

It might not even be your content.

It might be your surroundings.

Sometimes just rethinking your space, even rearranging your current setup, can give you a fresh sense of momentum.

What’s next?

I’ll be documenting the build of this new studio setup in future editions of Digital Backstage Newsletter and of course, you’ll see the results in my content too.

You’ll see the raw behind-the-scenes decisions, setups, mistakes, and triumphs as they unfold, and I can’t wait to bring you along for the ride.

So that’s what’s happening backstage right now. Big changes, big energy, and lots to come.

Speaking of what’s coming…

One More Thing...

I'm speaking at 2 events this month (so I guess, technically 'Two More things')... both from the new studio space! Also you should know they are both FREE to attend!

First is Podfest's A.I. & Creator Tools Masterclass.

My session is titled:

Streamline Your Video Process: Confident One-Take Production With Ecamm Live

There are lot's of other great speakers too, of course and last year's Podfest Masterclass was a huge success. Highly recommended!

Then the following week I'll be speaking at Ecamm's Leap into Video event.

My session (not dissimilar to Podfest!) is:

How To Create An Effective One Take Video Production Workflow

This is going to be yet another phenomenal event from Ecamm with 3 days packed with incredible speakers. Definitely not to be missed!

Whether you’re building a new setup or just making the most of the space you’ve got, remember: your studio isn’t just where you film,it’s where your message comes to life.

Keep shaping it, keep sharing it.

Have a great day,
Alec

Hi Reader, I’m going to keep this one short. I’ve been under the weather for the past few days. Nothing serious, just low energy and a bit off. I had a couple of zoom calls today and also ran a live training for the Digital Stage Launchpad Program, but truthfully, I wasn’t feeling up to writing this newsletter. Still, I wanted to show up. Because sometimes… less is enough. In that spirit, here are five reminders from this week that less can actually be more: 1. When creating a course In...

Hi Reader, Every now and then, I get a comment on one of my videos that makes me smile. Someone will say something like, “Great video, I didn’t even notice the edits.” It always makes me smile for two reasons. First, because that’s the secret. There are no edits. Everything I publish, from YouTube videos to full courses, is recorded in one take. (Hence the channel name 'Take One Tech') Second, because if I were editing, I’d probably cut half of it out. The filler words, the self-corrections,...

Hi Reader, Last week, we moved house. Not to a new country. Not across the world. Just about a hundred miles further south. But as I unpacked boxes and began wiring up my studio space again, I couldn’t help but reflect on something that used to feel completely out of reach. This business — my content, my coaching, my community — came with me. No break in service. No explaining anything to a boss. No downtime. No disruption. Just open the laptop, plug in the camera, and carry on doing the work...
